Megadeth's eighth album was aimed at a more radio-rock audience. By adapting their songs for commercial acceptance, they ran the risk of being accused of selling out and dumbing down. Containing songs such as 'Insomnia', 'Prince of Darkness' and 'Crush 'em', the album was a success both artistically and commercially, however it marked a post that had loomed for some time indicating that Megadeth, despite having the ability to make good records, were no longer at the cutting edge of Metal.
